The extraordinary thermoregulating technical shirt for dogs!
It is 2017 Sissi is no longer a puppy, but still active and lively. Sissi running, being outside with me, always, everywhere. We love going out early in the morning and take our last walk late in the evening.
During the mid-season at sunrise or late in the evening, the grass is wet, the air is cool and sometimes it is very humid. I need a garment that protects her from the wetness of the grass, the humidity of the early morning and late evening hours, wind, cold and snow during the winter. A soft, light and stretchy garment, in a nutshell, “a second skin”.
A garment with a warm, snug and breathable fabric to wear from the first humid days of October, during the cold winter until late spring.
As I’m out walking with Sissi, I think to all features that the garment must have, after months of research and kilometres travelled around trade fairs specialised in technical fabrics for sport, never ever would I have imagined to find the perfect fabric. I found what was right for me, a fabric with all qualities together in a single garment I would never have imagined having. A two-way stretch, soft, breathable fabric with the extraordinary features of maintaining a constant body temperature in all weather conditions, even at sub-zero temperatures.
When at a trade fair a prestigious Italian company introduced me to the fabric that would later become GINGERBREAD, listing all features, I couldn’t believe my ears.
I didn’t think it was possible to make a garment that could be worn all year round: in autumn against humidity, in winter against the cold and snow, in spring against the wind and still cold evenings, and in summer for holidays in the mountains when temperatures drop in the evenings. I was excited, with that fabric I would make the garment for all seasons, the garment for 365 days a year.
I’d have put our working for this extraordinary project and in a few weeks they created the perfect garment for Sissi and all the dogs who would wear it.
During mid-season and on very cold days, Sissi often had laryngitis and tummy aches and particularly suffering when the weather was wet, cold or on windy days. Since she wears GINGERBREAD, the special thermoregulating technical shirt for dogs, her belly aches and laryngitis have disappeared. When we welcome a dog into the family, who lives indoors, when we go out they too feel the temperature change and humidity, like us humans. So I decided to realize a technical and thermal sweater with a long neck that can be shaped to the length of each dog’s neck.
Delicate parts such as the stomach and belly are perfectly covered and thanks to the thermoregulating fabric, body temperature remains always constant.
Seven years after the GINGERBREAD first sale, we realise this garment has become important and necessary for our four-legged customers.
We have had the pleasure of dressing many quadrupeds, from the youngest to the oldest.
Customers who, after having worn it to their dog, have truly understood the true value of this garment.
