The waterporoof coat for all dogs!
EVERYDAY the rain coat has been created thanks to Alfio, a Weimaraner breed, who’s Sissi’s best friend. Alfio knows very well to handle Sissi up the right way! During one of our walks together, loooking at them, I realised that was time thinking a garment that would fit all sizes, from the smallest to the biggest one.
Inside the range of UNCONVENTIONALDOG’s products there’s TRENDY TRENCH60’’, a 4-legged waterproof suit, but, due to the special design of the garment it could not be developed and made for big sizes.
I wished to make a waterproof coat for dogs quick and easy to fit and, above all, suitable for all dogs of any build, small and large dog, thin and sturdy dog.
The idea was there, but the difficulty was finding something ingenious to tighten, widen and adapt the garment according to the structure of our dog. For the waterproof coat closing system on the back, I did’t want to use simple Velcro because, with time and frequent washing, performance decreases and Velcro is also not practical for dogs with long coat.
The desire to always come up with something unique and innovative for them, as it is in all our products, often leads to ideas not so simple to realize. I imagined a garment that could be widened or tightened according to the circumference of our dog’s side which can modify during his life. I had no idea how to do it and if on the market there was something that could meet my needs. Fortunately, our Italian trade fairs are a unique and rare asset for the viability of our ideas, and thanks to these fairs we are able to create unique products over time. Attending fairs I have more and more confirmation that Italian creativity, our genius and qualities makes us a unique people in the world.
The UNCONVENTIONALDOG team has never strayed from this ‘focus’ because we are always firm in our belief that the quality of the product and its extraordinary characteristics make it unique.
To confirm the above I found the zip! A patented and italian zip, and that’s why unique in its kind.
A zip that allows to have, in the same garment, a different fit in the circumference. Thanks to this unique zip, the garment can be widened and tightened by 10 cm in the waist point.
Fabric is always the same one used for TRENDY TRENCH 60”: waterproof, breathable, soft, silent, bi-elastic and fast drying. The waterproof membrane coupled to the fabric and the inner lining are also those of TRENDY TRENCH 60′: bi-elastic, breathable and hypoallergenic. At this point I had to “simply” draw the sketch and develop it into all sizes.
How many samples! How many changes! The sleeve, the belly band and the neck has been the critical points.
Main purpose of our raincoat is the total protection of the neck, back, stomach and belly, dog’s body partes very delicate. Don’t forget that, more and more, our dogs live inside our house getting used to a mild temperature becoming increasingly sensitive to chill, cold and humidity.
It seems easy developing a waterproof coat for dog. Looking our raincoat it sounds a few pieces of fabric sewn but behind EVERYDAY there was a great teamwork and, Sissi and Alfio have been our models, patients and available. Sissi, for small sizes and Alfio, for large ones.
Today EVERYDAY, the waterproof coat for dogs, has become a must-have item in the wardrobe of our 4legs friend. It is an indispensable dog raincoat jacket for the whole year, it is the cape 365 days.
